The brief

A fitness club wanted sparkling water and cold drinks available to members, but faced three constraints: the reception counter was shallow with no room for surface equipment; no dedicated beverage staff was planned; and there was no storage space for bottles and cans.

The third constraint was the decisive one. A bottled model simply did not work in this space: every bottle had to be stored, chilled and then collected, and none of those three fitted the club's operating routine.

The solution

An under-counter unit was installed beneath the reception desk, and instead of a standard vertical tower a slanted stainless tower was specified. The angle compensates for the counter's low working height and lets a glass sit under the tap without the tower overhanging the counter edge.

For the training floor, a three-outlet horizontal bar on independent legs was added so members could reach sparkling water without going to reception. A polished stainless finish keeps it consistent with the existing material palette.

The outcome

  • Bottle and can storage was eliminated entirely.
  • Beverage service runs without adding headcount.
  • The reception counter surface stayed free for its primary function.
  • Daily cleaning runs through the CIP routine and needs no technician.

What this project clarified: in spaces like gyms, offices or lobbies the issue is rarely capacity — it is that beverage service must not become a new task for the staff. The right configuration is the one that removes the task.
